Yes a low speed cornering light I think - on the full programme (available on ITV hub if you are in the UK) it goes on and off each side as the car turns.

Can you say a few more words about what you mean by the rear window please? If you mean the window beside the Queen I think it is dropped an inch or so - from memory it was opened fully when the car drove around the arena at the end of the show - but isn’t it supposed to do that?

That’s exactly what I meant on the rear window, fully dropped into the door. I wondered if the safety feature (of not dropping fully so children on boosters can’t lean out) was disabled on request to give better view / more space for waving.

Anyone guess what the colour is? Rosello Red perhaps?

Not sure if it’s a regular colour or not - looks similar to the last State Review RR, black over some version of “Royal Claret”.

Isn’t there a historic “garnet” colour used on royal Bentleys / RRs (the other one) that is very similar to this.

I always thought the reason was that the window couldn't lower further because of the wheel well cutout. Hmmm.

Saw I saw three cars in the flesh today at the same dealership. It was a good day to see them as it was a sunny day but with patches of cloud so I got to see them in different lights as the clouds moved around.

1. Batumi Gold - kind of acceptable but a little too light and a bit too much like a pale champagne colour. It cant see it working with the shadow pack and black alloys. My wife liked it more than I did. The car had the perlino interior and awful silver 23 inch alloys so probably didnt do the colour much justice. First edition car.

2. Charente Grey - not sure how to describe it but definitely not for us. Dull and duller. Like a brown gray with little life in it. The car spec didnt do it any favours either - silver 23 inch alloys and the nickel atlas finisher. Really really disliked this colour.

3. Santorini black - just works. Car had an ivory interior with the atlas pack and 23 inch diamond turned dark grey contrast alloys.

So Batumi and Charente are out. Santorini is still in. I would like to still have a look at Portofino Blue as well as the Green.

Here are some pics. The Charente definitely photographs better than it looks in real life imho - for anyone ordering it please do try to see it in person. The dealer let me borrow the Batumi for the weekend - its a V8 and its simply phenomenal.

Agree entirely with this. Charente looks good in the photos, but in the metal, not so much. I would also agree that Santorini with diamond cut 23s is the best colour I have seen so far. The only other colour I have seen being Eiger, which like Charente, was flat and lifeless.

The car I test drove was Charente and I thought it looked fantastic. I was wavering about switching to Belgravia Green but seeing it in the flesh convinced me to stick with it.

Oh well, it’s all subjective. I don’t disagree that it’s quite a dull colour, but I guess that is part of the attraction for me. And I think the hint of brown makes it a little more interesting.

Great pics - those are the wheels I’ve ordered too (on the Charente Grey car). 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

Yes its all subjective of course. Hence so many colour options. I just don't like the brown in it. Its really not grey - it looks grey in pictures but on a bright day like today, in the metal, the brown took the leading role and it looked really flat.

Here are some more pics of the Batumi taken today. Regardless of the colour, having spent the weekend with the car both me and my wife totally love it. She has taken it everywhere including Waitrose, M&S, a barbecue party last night, driven around central london this morning and also a bit of motorway and A road driving. Its superb and a great all rounder. The ride on the 23 inch alloys is also pretty pliant and we drove on some pretty poor road surfaces to get to the barbecue last night. My younger son who is 21 also drove it and gave it a firm nod of approval.

Im not ordering the V8 though so will miss the crazy performance of this one…..

Also been playing with the configurator and just went on to see the colour options on the new Sport model - dont want to get one but just curious - and noticed that on the sport the P400 and the P440E AB are pretty much the same price???? Why charge a premium for the hybrid on the L460 then?
