I had a similar issue when I first got my car.
I ended up emailing this address below, and they raised a ticket and solved my issue.
I presume it's still a valid email address as I have never needed to contact them again.

It has been but it wasn't having it, now the car isn't (can't be) registered at all. You can format the disk to any state you like but the downloader will always say it's not the correct format and will reformat in order to download. Trouble is now after removing the car and not being able to link it I can't even get to that stage. 2017 Vogue SE

So it's all working now. Went back to the site 48hrs later and the car was linked to the account. Downloaded the maps again on my laptop but still nothing. Tried downloading them on my desktop and it worked, car recognised the USB and away we went. I had some comms with the LR types who asked the usual questions, not sure if they fiddled with something or not but all seems to be working now. 2017 Vogue SE

@Spleen:

Glad you got it sorted Thumbs Up

IME, its easy for these huge files to get corrupted if the download takes a long time, so although the vehicle software might even recognise the file ID and see the correct checksum, the upload will fail. I had 3 or 4 downloads before it worked, but I noticed the last one happened in much less time both downloading and uploading.

I'm wondering if it was USB suspend / powersave or something similar causing the issue, if you could save to HDD then transfer to USB OK.
