Yeah, I was surprised at how crusty it is.

You’re right of course, I will have to fix it quickly and need to decide on the method. I’m tempted to use these:

That’s what I’ve purchased to do mine, along with some marine grade sealant.

Have a look at the Dadcars video on YouTube as it gives a good idea of what needs to be done

Marine grade is a good idea 👍

I’ve seen the video. You do not need to remove so much headliner, just the central bit, B post trim, grab handle and light fitting.

When are you doing yours?

As soon as I get a break in work with decent weather. I’ll post on here when it’s done.

Ive been looking at the various threads on this topic and also the tool-station website It seems the pipe inserts are readily available but I did read a thread saying how different metals may interact. I wasn’t actually that bothered as I’ll only have the car for another year or so anyway so if they are corroded after lasting 15 years (and I haven’t looked yet) I’m sure it doesn’t really matter HOWEVER the aforementioned website also has plastic equivalents and I just wondered if that was a better option? Geoff

Where does the water go if the drain hole is blocked? 🤷‍♂️

I will fill up the gutter channel around the pano roof and then either overspill down the outside of the car, or if the sunroof is open, into the car.

That’s what I thought. So with the sunroof closed and the hole blocked up water shouldn’t get into the car?

Begs the question, why bother with the drains?

I'm guessing that it will collect in the channels and then when you open the sunroof .... whoosh!

I never use the roof, so in theory I could tape over the holes and forget about it 🤷‍♂️

That was my plan B.

A lump of blutac in there hole seemed to work fine for me between breaking one side through trying to clean it out - and then the inserts arriving.

We had some heavy rain, so I'm glad I plugged the hole.

Interesting, so no issues with the heavy rain? I’ve bought some waterproof Gorilla tape (excellent stuff) so I’ll use that while I’m preparing the drain and probably cover the drain holes permanently when I’ve finished.. I’ll then monitor the situation carefully.

No issues - as above, I suspect if I'd have opened the sunroof the following day, I'd have got wet. Probably true if I'd opened a side window and gone around a corner too.
