Just put the seal in mine as it started to leak after i cleaned the line out and replaced the NRV. You dont have to remove the spoiler/wiper arm to do this repair just remove the 3 30 torx mounting bolts and the 7 15 torx screws it only takes about 20 minutes Thumbs Up

Took mine apart at the weekend and yep full of brown gunk - cleaned it all out - refitted it then snapped the top off the wiper arm spindle Evil or Very Mad Got so fed up with it (and it was only ever going to be a temporary repair) that I followed RRUK's advise - Dan has yet more of my hard earned folding stuff and as of tomorrow I should have a nice new wiper motor Very Happy "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

Remember to bolt the spoiler back in place as if you don't this becomes a very expensive mod Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
BTW I had to use two washers to get a seal the old one on top of the new one but it works fine Very Happy Geoff

I think I have this same problem. Got back from a trip last night in my FF after using the rear washer (never used before) and noticed yellow fluid running down the inside rear window and sitting on my parcel shelf (this would be the washer fluid).

£185.50 from my local Land Rover dealer so I don't think I'll go that route at the moment.

So I am looking at doing this job, is this the correct oil seal to use as I can't find the one you referenced exactly;

I see Alan mentions;

Looking at the article, not sure if this is possible? Is it?

I would take the spoiler off, makes life sooooo much easier . If it's been leaking, the chances are the motor assembly will be filled with brown, slimy greasy stuff that could go all over the inside of the car.

3 bolts and the spoiler's off, so it's probably the easiest bit of the repair but hey, it's your call in the end, I know what I would do though Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Thanks. I don't mind taking the spoiler off, it's whether I need to remove the wiper arm from the spindle or not. After recently fitting a new one and the previous one I removed and binned being badly corroded, I would ideally prefer not to have to take the newly fitted arm off the spline again.

I am realizing the less I mess the better Smile

Is it necessary to remove the wiper arm and would any oil seal fit as long as it is those dimensions you specify?

If you're going to take the motor out to work on it (preferred) you need to take the wiper arm off the spindle first. If you've recently replaced it, it should come off much easier.

As long as you get one to the spec on the link, you should be fine. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

^ yep will come off a treat now if it's been off recently. So much easier to work on the mechanism on the kitchen table👍 There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
