Does anyone think it is worth changing this seal while I am doing the job?

I can't actually see anything wrong with it, nor do I know if a new one is easy to fit but they work out at £7 inc postage.

Ok - do it once etc. I just didn't want to find out something else perishes a few months down the line and have to take it all off again.

I'll leave this part then.

I have a new motor/pump unit and a new wiper arm and jets but the water still takes ages to start and then is more of a flow than a spray. Can someone please advise (with pics if possible) where to try and insert a non return valve if this is likely to solve the problem. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Not sure on this non-return valve but even on my rear washer (albeit leaking at the moment), it flows out - doesn't spray, mine is not new, it's the original.

I did alanm_3’s “cheaper” rear washer leak repair today and I shall be eternally grateful to him for having devised this clever mod. Even taking things very, very slowly and carefully, and losing a lot of time searching in my various boxes for suitable screws, I had the whole thing done in about an hour and a half.
The rear washer now works a treat … apart from the fact that the tiny nipple/grommet housed in the wiper arm which provides the seal between the wiper washer outlet tube and the arm itself seems to be Censored and water gushes out from there now Big Cry – but happily onto the outside of the screen Thumbs Up So I guess I now have to buy a new wiper arm with this bit in it …
So, many thanks alanm_3, and if anyone else is thinking of trying this mod but hesitating, then I’d say give it a go, if I can do it, so can you! It's "bébéchoon", ackcherly, with accents. 'Steve' to my chums.

I have yet to do mine but this is encouraging. I think I am most worried about getting the trim off and not snapping anything.

I was too, so I understand your concern.
I’d previously taken the trim off before knowing about this post (very brave of me!) and indeed I broke one of the plastic fixing lugs (can’t think of a better word) because I didn't know in which direction to pull, or if there was anything else involved. However, follow the advice here and pull it off smartly, perpendicular to how it fits in, ignore the screeching noises, and off it comes! (Quite satisfying, actually!)
And even having broken one (or two …or three …) lugs, just a couple of the remaining ones should be enough to secure it. Worst case? Buy a new finisher … which is probably what I shall be doing – I’m just waiting to hear from Ducky Dan.
Go for it, scwilson - and good luck! It's "bébéchoon", ackcherly, with accents. 'Steve' to my chums.
