First problem with my 2011

So after 1500 miles in about three weeks I had my first problem Big Cry
The first day I haven't driven my car since I got it and the battery was totaly flat Evil or Very Mad
Called Land Rover Assistance at 8:05 - 3 hours later Evil or Very Mad he arrives and checks the battery and it is showing 3.4 volts.
I have hardly used the FBH, been doing about 500 miles a week, only done journeys over 40 mins and spend all day friday driving and half of Saturday so something is draining the battery down. To be fair to the LR recovery guy he called Farnell Guiseley and told them to expect me an arranged for a hire care to be there for me (RRS) which I thought was good customer service.
Farnell are going to check it out to see if they can find the voltage drain, I hope they do, I really don't want to waste a whole day again for a flat battery on a 4 week old car.

Should get an update tomorrow. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Not good, regardless of use of the car (short journeys etc), or use of accessories such as the fbh, it shouldn't happen. Lucky us lesser mortals have you guys to iron out the flaws in these new cars so by the time we can afford them they are sorted! Wink Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Sorry to hear about your battery problems.

I've a friend and both he and his father have had flat batteries on their new 4.4s.
Mine's due next month - so keen to see what is identified as the problem.

Wasn't too happy especially with a 3 hour wait but when he arrived I was happy with his actions and that of Farnells, problems do happen and I'm happy to give people / companies the opportunity to stand behind their products but I will be p11sed if the fault can't be traced and it happens again. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

At least you got a decent loan car, I always ended up with the smallest cheapest non LR brand cars they can find. over the years, despite handing over the keys to my very expensive prestige cars I've been handed the keys to the following:

Mini One
BMW 116
Volvo S40
Freelander 1
Freelander 2
Ford Fiesta (My dad just got one of these as a loan car too)

Not once have I been given a Discovery, RRS or a FFRR (since LR ownership) or a comparitive model in other brands.

Cheapskate Censored !

If I'd just spent £70K though I'd want something decent, Discovery 4 HSE

I totally agree with that, I think if the battery is not up to running all the electronics / accessories they should not fit them or upgrade the electrics. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Given that LPR are one of the largest dealers, and hence will probably have sold quite a few MY11 4.4's, would be good to hear from James whether this is a systemic issue or more rogue. The evidence (albeit limited) from this forum would seem to be that there is something wrong in design terms. MY2011 FFRR 4.4 TDV8 Vogue, Santorini Black and Ivory *Arrived*

This has been an ongoing problem (and not just since the 2010 facelift) - not at all impressive that it's still happening.

Me too. Have had the AA out twice since december for flat battery on my 4.4. Definately connected to the pre-heater. I dont dare pre-heat now as i know i will need aa to get me back on the road. Design flaw.

When are LR going to realise that this car needs an auxiliary battery to help protect the car starter circuit for use with all the other stuff that its now packed with??
