But you can't always get that or even close so the wuv has to have a map to allow for it. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

boost is the easiest way for 99% of the population to get their head around the increase in power that relates to the amount of air you can get in an engine

It might be easy to understand but as Trommel has pointed out, in many cases it's just plain wrong.

You can reduce boost pressure and stil get more air in an engine and get more power. You can also increase it and get less - especially with a petrol engine. If people can't understand that then get them to look at the torque curve, that's more reliable, or better still - leave it to people who can understand.

So, the US cars make more power because they're tuned to run on low-quality fuel?

Simply trying to explain why the row and USA maps are different but I'll give up now Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged Supercharged Java Black

Well after finding a suitable place to put an intake duct in a stealthy place in the front bumper I've ordered one of them fancy enclosed air filters. Full write up in a separate thread soon ...

Hopefully it will help tasp.

I'm trying to find a link but I recall seeing one where another duct was run to the casing itself just to help keep heatsoak off the casing while the car was in motion. Bit extreme I thought but the owner swore it brought the inlet temp down another degree or two and more so at lower rpm/airflow levels. Hopefully you won't need to go that far! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

The heatsheild I have keeps the filter side about 20 degrees lower than the engine side. I'm not to bothered about the duct getting hot as my pipe work gets to about 90c and inlet temps don't rise higher than 50c under sustained hard driving. It's unlikely that the heat would transfer to the air too much anyway.
