Just for the sake of it, I thought I would change the air filter as I had ordered one with some other parts. Couldn't have done it soon enough. The car starts better, runs better, sounds better. The old filter was well and truly clogged.

The brakes are now working properly, didn't even need the refurb kit, the caliper is now or at least for now free'd up. And labour was just £15. So very pleased for the minute.

Been quiet for a bit lol. Our C-Max packed up so all money got thrown at that and I was in hospital recently having major surgery. Now on the mend and home though. Nearly got all the parts together for a spanner day. Going to be venturing out of the house for my first long journey since my operation tomorrow and feeling nervous, but taking Tank for a good run. |

Absolutely fuming with the AA. What a bunch of crooks. They tell you to detail the problem when you break down and insist that you be recovered for the BRC, so I do. Struggling to start, caused the starter motor to pack up, BUT because the 1st responder only put down that the starter motor was at fault, They are only willing to replace the starter motor under the breakdown repair cover, however are threatening to refuse to payout any future claims on this one because there are a couple of pixels missing from the clocks!

Really not happy with the lack of choice of breakdown repair cover on the market. I am STUCK with the AA. Better than nothing. But certainly preparing my cars better for future breakdowns including blankets, food, some way of heating us up in case the engine can't run. Really not happy though. This spring and summer is going to be packed with lots of preventative work so that I hopefully don't have to deal with the big yellow |

Tank is finally home, I am £325 lighter lol luckily I get to claim £260 of that back from the AA. New starter motor seems to have fixed a lot of issues, hot start issue now seems to have gone, drives better. Glad to have it home.

Finally got around to ordering the breather filter mod from Island 4x4. Bought the Febi version which was just £19.99+VAT and also ordered a pollen filter which I overlooked when the aircon system was repaired and serviced last summer which was only £7.50+VAT.

Very odd, My mechanic rebuilt my caliper for me as I was unable to finish the job, so now have a fully refurbished caliper, but the caliper on my car was not seizing again as I thought it was. I think I may be just a bit over sensitive after the breakdown in December |
