United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

Evening Edward

The only little difference I can see is that the seal on the wing of your car seems slightly further towards the windscreen than mine and may not be sitting fully on the raised joint of the wing and inner panel. Could that make such a difference, I'm not sure? They certainly don't touch each other as you may think to seal.

You may be right in suggesting the seals are not compliant, mine are also knackered towards the front.

I'm at a loss at the moment to suggest further ideas. Either lots of others are keeping quiet 'cos they can't solve this, or someone on here will pop along and make us seem Embarassed

Grabbing at ideas, what about putting some waterproof tape between the two seals and seeing if that fixes the leak?

If I think of anything else I'll put it up, but don't hold your breath Smile Cheers
Richard

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Santorini Black

Hi Richard
I've looked further at this blasted leak and believe the front windscreen plastic cowling is the primary cause of the leak. It doesn't fit flush against the screen in places and I'm going to sealant it against the screen. I'm sure I had to do this on a P38 once.

Thanks

Hi All
All sorted now as the oil level sensor is suddenly working and I have no more water leaks onto the battery. I also used the F type connector to repair my broken plastic coolant pipe. That was a great tip. Once I've sorted out the pulley problem I'm up and running.

Thanks

Can someone tell me where the oil drain pipe is, that was mentioned please?
It’s so much easier to pump the majority of the oil out first. When doing a change.

Slight confession in that the f type connector has started leaking. What a pain, so I've bitten the bullet and ordered a replacement hose. However does anyone know the best process for draining the coolant on the 4.4 tdv8? Any tips would be great. Also I got a rather weird ticking noise from the Top left hand side of the engine (off side) for a bit when cold. It went away and might be a screw rattling that I lost when putting the new idler pulley in!!!

Thanks
