theres not much here on our forum re these cranks failing so i wonder if its more Disco or RRS specific, slightly different engines maybe???..

Had 3 Disco 4's and now my FFRR all with 3.0l with no trouble All LR cars from 1984

Sorry I only had limited time talking to the mech as I was paying for my MOT test, but he did tell me they had stripped it down with the intention of fitting a new crank, but they found it had “twisted “ the block, and they were waiting for a new short motor for c£5k + vat + labour.
