Sounds like it’s best to get it checked then. Mines mostly left in the auto fan and auto distribution setting. Don’t very often select face vents, think mine work 🤣

Hi glad your enjoying the car.

1) reverse camera on my 2012 stays on until i move forward or a min or so has elapsed
2) if you turn your fan on full or select defrost you should really hear the fan blowing hard it is quite noisy
3) Heat my car (I leave in auto) does not start really blowing hot air until the care is at temp, so in cold weather it can take a little while for hot air to come through.

hope this helps 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current

Also, the vent in the centre of the dash has a slider which goes from cold to hot - it will always be cold if it's on the cold setting, regardless of the climate settings.

Obviously, the lights have to be on, on the relevant vent controls in order for them to be open too.

I don't think the fan on full is particularly loud compared to other cars - I've only had the car a few months I presumed this is by design, it does get the car warm quickly, just in a subtle manner Smile

(obvious things perhaps, but some people miss these things!)

Thanks, just seems a little feeble on the heating front, will check that centre vent to see how it's set. Yes on my rear camera it stays on for. A few seconds when selecting D but then goes off.. going in after Christmas to get it all checked out. Will let you know outcome.
Had funny issue yesterday when starting up for first time, nothing happened when pressing starter button, kept saying put foot on brake which I had pressed? Pressed and released couple of times and it started. Never happened again all day. Does this operate off brake light switch or something else, anyone else had this ? 2009 Range Rover Vogue 3.6TDV8, Bournville, Parchment/Navy

Mine seems to do the same, I just keep pressing the brake and button eventually it goes. For those 20 seconds I am watching my wallet get emptied in my head. 2009 TDV8 3.6

Been out in mine today. Never really noticed, but rear camera stayed on for a few seconds after selecting D....

Sounds like it's not unique but I guess few things are on these! Hope it's just an occasional occurrence. Maybe the A/c is as good as it gets but will see what garage says. My Jag one has never been touched but is still icy cold and hot when it's requested. 2009 Range Rover Vogue 3.6TDV8, Bournville, Parchment/Navy

Also clean out the little vent in the heating control panel. Behind it is the temperature sensor and there is a little fan which blows over it.

If you get a compressed air spray and give it a blast it will knock all the crud off it and it can read the internal temps properly then. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks guys, for some reason leaving doors open does run battery down, it does on my Jag too. Yes I'm a fan of light interiors and a bit of wood, some say old fashioned but I say class!🤣 Been cleaning leather and treating couple of scuffs with Furniture Clinic product, managed to mix a good match from kit I had for Jaguar, Ivory with bit of yellow seems very close.

Loving the car so far, couple of questions:-
Climate control doesn't seem particularly hot on max or cold on min, is something amiss?
Noticed when selecting reverse, rear camera comes on but doesn't always go off when selecting another gear unless you cancel it?
Also in top left a triangle with exclamation mark appears, presume this is a warning?

Any info on these?
Regards

It is a climate control system that I've experienced on no other car, I still find it annoying. But for whatever strange British engineering concept it isn't just controlled by the climate control controls, the horizontal rotator below the central vents seems to do the actual job of the settings. Well on mine it does, perhaps your is the same.

Generally keeping it in the middle of blue/red seems to work, but if it is more towards the red it goes much warmer, and if it is in the blue zone the aircon seems to kick in.

A very odd user interface in my opinion. But at least I now no longer feel like I have to take the system apart and can confirm my aircon and heater exchange work just fine.

But in my opinion, whoever thought of those controls should be sacked and shot Wink

The control under the central vent controls the vent temperature relative to the main control settings, so you can have the vents a bit warmer or cooler than the rest of the system. Some folk like cooler air to face but warmer feet.

I think it works well.

Maybe mine is broken as it affects all air temperature dramatically.

You mean it affects the temp from *other* vents too?

I'd not noticed that on mine, pretty sure it only affects that one vent but I'll check next time I'm out! I think the idea is that it lets you have a cooler vent whilst keeping the car at a set temp.

The air-con is pretty much always on by default, with the idea that it cools and *dries* the air first, then re-heats it to the temperature you set. That's pretty common in cars AFAIK, as it helps to control moisture in the cabin, keeps the windows demisted etc, especially relevant if you jump in the car with wet gear from skiing or have a dog that likes splashing in puddles and things. Smile

Seems to be a few things that can affect how it heats/cools. Will check temp sensor and try and give it a blow through. Central vent was sent on cold, have moved it to the red sector and will see tomorrow if it changes anything. 2009 Range Rover Vogue 3.6TDV8, Bournville, Parchment/Navy
