Evening all!

I've got a 2014 l405 and I have noticed on the last few drives that when I have the window down and I am turning the wheel towards the left, I hear a clicking noise, which stops when I straighten up.

It almost sounds like there is a stone in the tread, but I have checked that, and there isn't.

Any ideas what it could be and if so, is it covered under warranty?

CV joint?

Resurrecting this. I’m having this sound from passanger side rear when turning left. Sounds like a pebble is rattling around inside my wheel/tire. I’m guessing bad CV joint? How hard is this to repair on these rigs? DIY? 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

I also have this, when turning right. I noticed it a few weeks ago and thought it must be a stone in the tread and noticed it again yesterday. I haven't actually checked the tread of the tyre for a stone though. Kev

It definitely has to be suspension related. Bc it Only happens when turning left. I tested in a parking lot going in circles at slow speed and it would start from medium through full tight to the left. I need a buddy to see if it’s the front or rear. Nothing when I turn right.

Drivetrain, not suspension.

Standard fault on all makes of vehicles with driveshafts that have CV joints.

As the joint wears it makes a noise when turning, leave it long enough and it will tick in a straight line...

It could be a DIY job depending on how rusted together the hubs are.....  Pete

Oh wonderful. Never messed with the drivetrain on this vehicle. So would it make sense it’s only when turning one direction?

I had a leak on the rear diff and had the seal/gasket (pinion?)repaired not more than a year ago. (The common repair/issue on these). Would that be a cause of this or non related?

How bad is it to continue to drive with it this way? Not sure how soon I can get in in for appointment. 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

Was that a tick, tick tick noise Stan or just one tick when you turned...?

Suspension wear tends to tick as the bush hits the arm so usually just once, CV joints tend to make a repeat noise...

But then it's a fatty so anything is possible...!! Pete

it was a repeat click Pete..i drove on full right lock and my son walked beside the front off side wheel and diagnosed the lower arm bush.. ... - .- -.

Mine is a repeated tink/click for as long as I’m turning left. Once I straighten out or turn right it stops.

Stan was yours the same symptom? Only turning in the one direction? Was it just the front or rear that was the culprit or did you replace both at the same on the side that was having the issue?

How do I rule out one vs the other. LCA vs CV joint/drive shaft? 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

same as you..clicking went when the steering wheel was straight...

i put mine in full lock turned to the right and it was the osf that was the problem...i had both fronts replaced.. ... - .- -.

I suppose once jacked up and pulling on the lower control arm....if it has any play at all it would need rpelaced?

I also have sway bar bushings that I purchased that I need to drop in. Hopefully be able to do that myself as it doesn't look too bad. LCA I doubt bc I don't have the LR separator tool 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC
