Just ordered the module and remote for mine, already done the CCF edit and got the timed climate option on the screen so just need to wait for the bits to turn up now. Then wait for cold weather Mr. Green

Paid a bit more for the bits (£70 for the module and £30 for a new key fob) but still a cheap mod Bow down
Thanks for the info and writeup Kev, another gadget added to the list Rolling with laughter

No probs Paul Thumbs Up

It's useful little mod and having had the functionality on my old RRS, it's something I cannot do without now! Wink Kev

Had all summer to sort my retro heating fit after i didnt getting it going last winter due to an open circuit on the aux water pump but i thought i would wait till i could stand in the cold again to try and sort it Rolling Eyes , would anyone know if 12v and an earth should bring the pump to life, i have noticed on pictures of the pump that it has 3 pins in the plug socket but only 2 wires feed it. Thanks for any info.

I don't get a very good range on mine to be honest. It's fine for my needs, and will work between my hallway and car, but if I move into my kitchen, it doesn't reach. On my old L320, the range was crazy. I could have been in the middle of the supermarket and it would reach out to the car park. Kev

This is bloody genius!

Thank you, Kev.

Will be checking if I have FBH and, if I do, I feel an upgrade coming on. What do I put here then?

No problem Thumbs Up

Just on the range issue, what I didn't check was that the coax antenna cable is actually plugged into the TV amplifier module at the other end. It may not be if remote climate wasn't installed at the factory! If anyone checks this and finds out, please report back and I'll update the tutorial. Kev

The next step is to update the CCF using a suitable diagnostic tool. For me, as I have the GAP IID tool, I used this and configured the following parameters:
Car Config > BCM-Body Control > Fuel Burning Heater > Fuel Fired Parking Heater
Car Config > BCM-Body Control > Timed Climate > Fitted

This morning's frozen FF reminded me to at least do this bit.

All looks good. Have set it to run tomorrow morning as a test.

Assuming it works - can't see why it won't - I'll be buying the bits to add the remote.

Thanks again for this @knwatkins it's a great post. What do I put here then?

Ran my test timed climate this morning.

Got into the car after 25 mins of the FBH running and ...

... air was being blown around the car but the windscreen was still frozen solid.

Looking at the bonnet, the corner over the FBH was defrosted, so have to assume the heater was running.

Did I just not give it enough time? What do I put here then?

Strange. My windscreen is always defrosted by the time I get out to the car. Mind you, I think last night was particularly chilly. Just whack your heated front screen on. Should be melted in a few minutes Thumbs Up Kev

My L322 used to always clear the screen too.

I think - well hope - you’re right about last night being so cold.

Going to give it another test on the next frosty night, making sure it gets its full run time. What do I put here then?
