Hi all. Thanks for all the advice. The problem with the watch is the self winding has stopped. I've been in touch with the dealer who I purchased it from, who are a rolex approved centre, & they are going to have a look at the problem whilst I wait. If it's simple, they will fix it there and then, if it needs a full service they will take 10 weeks to do it. So hopefully it just needs a drop of 3 in 1.

I would strongly recommend that you contacted the RSC directly yourself and avoid having an in-house watchmaker attempt to fix your issue. Especially if the watch is still under warranty.

For an extra degree of nerdishness, look closely and you'll see that the minute markers at 19 and 48 are highlighted in orange.

You see! This is how dangerous these threads can be! There was me “minding my own business” checking out the posts. Seeing if there’s anything I want to read about, or could possibly help with then BANG! I happen across this topic and look what the postman delivers yesterday!
Thanks guys! Thanks a lot!!! Rolling Eyes Razz Thumbs Up

Used to be Baselworld, now it's Watches and Wonders. Call it whatever, March has always been an exciting month...

Perhaps a Ranger replacement or something more Rolex Explorer-like?
Granted there is the Black Bay 36-41etc in stainless steel, could it be something with a GMT function on the way? That is assuming they're now comfortable with expanding the application of their 5652 caliber Whistle

No teasers from Rolex, yet...

MoonSwatch

Article from a couple days ago:

https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/were-rea...moonswatch

Released today at Swatch stores. People queuing up... A blasphemy for purists and the flex culture followers. A brilliant move for others.
Call me a heretic but this is some excellent news right there: Not only does this make an icon accessible to a wider audience (without the stigma of the knock off) but it also drives demand towards actual timepieces rather than some digital gizmo... With all the educational potential that comes with this.
Of course speculation has developed quick reflexes over the past 2-3 years and there are examples going for 3K on the fleabay as we speak. But here lies the bonus: A wider audience is being made aware of the ridiculous markups of today's luxury watch market. And the kind of demographic that can't or won't pay a dime over retail...Let's see how this pans out.

That’s interesting. Swatch and Omega are owned by the same company so this is a great marketing tool and as you say, will allow many more folks to get into Speedys. Sure it doesn’t have the co axial movement, but only a watch nerd would be able to tell. Potential downside? Ignorant crims mugging you for what they think is a £6k watch, other than that, what’s not to like?

Wow , just had a look at those swatch omegas, like them a lot. Looked on eBay , currently one for sale with an £8.4K buy it now. Rather have a real one for that price..

For £8,4 K you could strike a deal on a duo of the "real" ones.
This proves the point mentioned earlier on speculation and all...But a fool and his money...they say Laughing

Hype! I've read on their site that there's currently a sales limit of one or two watches per person but more will be made available. And if we are to believe that Omega or Rolex cannot or will not ramp up production in a meaningful way given the complexity of the end product, I see no point whatsoever why Swatch cannot churn out the Moonswatch by the millions, especially after such warm a reception.
