While we are down there.....

Hi all,

Hope everyone has had, or is still having, a good summer!

My 4.4 TDV8 is in the garage to change AC compressor and generator. Is there any other preventative work worth doing while half the engine is ripped out anyway?

As always, all advice is appreciated!

Thanks!

Belts, pulleys and tensioners they will check as these are coming out anyway.

Is the starter motor located in the front?

Oil cooler gaskets already done about two years ago along with a new EGR....

@garyRR do you mean the expansion tank for coolant?

The expansion tank only needs replacing if it’s been contaminated by oil from a leaking oil cooler. Gearbox and diff fluid does not need access from the front of the engine. Not sure about the EGT sensors. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Appreciate all the replies. My question was more intended with regards to the front of the engine already being out, if there are any obvious things to do - belts and tensioners being one of them. RR Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - 11

Water pump is relatively cheap, I'd do it when access is easy.

Just done all my pulleys and water pump as a precaution. I used Genuine items only though. Had a pattern part sent by mistake and it had more play in it than the one I was replacing.
