United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

Wasn't today per say but the latest affair was replacing all the vacuum hoses at front with silicone. While there also doing the vacuum pump gasket and oil pressure sensor.

They really don't leave a lot of space to work on this thing do they. Like if one could remove the fan it would be fine but the coolant pipe going across the top makes it a nightmare. Its actually a sport Sad

Not anymore, 4.4 TDV8 now Very Happy

So after almost 8 months of owning my 2012 Westminster, and having covered 6000 trouble free miles - this evening on the drive when I started the enginevi got a gearbox, drive train and restricted performance warning. The gear selector didn't pop up. I switched off the engine got out and locked and unlocked the car. I restarted the engine and still got the restricted performance warning and the dreaded orange engine light on the dash. So it will be a trip to my mechanic next week as I dont have a plug in diagnostic to read and clear the fault code. Hopefully it's something minor like a sensor that can be swapped out easily.

I guess it also means I need to think about getting a code reader.

Bought a LR bike carrier from fellow forum member and jolly nice chap belldarr.

He freed up some space in his garage as a result.
And I didn't.

Errm....

Fitted a new genuine LR brake vacuum pump, this will hopefully eliminate the red arrows exhaust when I boot it as it also acts as a turbo oil lube scavenger pump. Fingers crossed. Also own a 1976 Land Rover 101 3.5 V8.
Previously owned 1991 Range Rover Vogue 3.9 V8.

Having only recently bought her....

Had all 4 manifold hoses replaced with the white-lettering pipes earlier last week.

Today had the iphone to bluetooth adapter delivered and tested.

Should have replacement number plates delivered tomorrow (existing one's look tired and poor).

Also got some paint to tidy up the tow bar which i'll hopefully do one evening this week.

I replaced my left side cable which snapped last week. When I checked the right side it was like new so clearly had been replaced before I bought my Westminster. They seem to go in the same place. I sprayed a little white grease inside the rubber sleeve and the rubber cap ends to try and ward off moisture getting into it.

LED interior upgrade

Fitted LED’s to the interior lights, reverse lights and number plate lights. What a difference they make, much brighter.

Wire brushed and kurust 661’d my rusty steering gear support brackets, and topped up the lanogard under the car, great weekend for it before the dark days arrive!

Made mine work by doing 550 mile in one go with one break of getting food, drink and petrol whilst towing this.

Despite the trailer nearly weighing 3ton, the range pulled it with no trouble from Essex to Preston and back

Surprisingly only chewed 3/4 of a tank of petrol on the way back

Happy days I'll take that

Towed someone out of one of the fields. They turned around in a field entrance, on a slope and then got stuck. Rather than sit there 2m away from tarmac, they opened the field gate and reversed into the field in the hope of getting a run up. Uphill. On wet grass. In a Ford Focus with 2mm on the front tyres. The lady came running up to the farm in a fluster, whilst the mid 20s son sat in the driver's seat. I've not had a vehicle with a screw in towing eye, and she didn't have a clue, so it took a bit of finding and fitting (reverse thread got me for a moment). Uphill, tight angle to get through the gate and I'm straight onto a lane a right angles, all of 6m from the gate. All a bit awkward but we got there after a fashion.

Obviously they offered me £20. Obviously Laughing

Land Rover Experience

My Mrs bought me a Land Rover experience afternoon at the North Yorkshire site.

Had a blast driving a brand new Range Rover around the track, was amazed at just what they can do especially as it was throwing it down and blowing a gale and on road tyres!!

Fantastic day and well worth doing if you can, have learned so much about the Terrain response system and the best way to use the car. Thumbs Up 2012 TDV8 Autobiography Baltic Blue
