Difference Between L322 and L405 Deployable Step Motors

I've been perusing various listings here and in China on deployable step motors. I'm seeing some mismatches in data on the Chinese listings. Most are showing L322 from 2013 on, and as we all know, after 2013 is the L405.

As everyone pinches each other's photos online, photos may be unreliable. So I need some first-hand knowledge, please. It seems the L322 and L405 motors differ, but not by very much?

I ordered a couple in to see what they are like, here's one of them.

This seems to be an L405, but looking at genuine photos of L322 ones, I don't see a lot of difference. Can someone confirm they actually are different? And/or what differs? 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black

It's the L322 ones I need photos of really.

The plot thickens. I've just received some more in, bought in as L405/L494. Same as the ones I have and have been selling already.

They are labelled LR0044808 and LR0044807, which are L322 numbers.

So I need to know still, are the L322/405/494 actually all the same, or is it a Chinese incorrect labelling issue?

I've now got to the bottom of this. The motors are almost identical, but there's a slight difference in the cut-out on the bar, and the bar rests in a different position. It's easy to see why so many suppliers confuse the two — even holding one of each in your hand, the difference isn't immediately obvious.

I'm currently refurbishing some steps so an interesting thread for me.

Also first time I've seen your site so added to my bookmarks for future reference if I'm needing spares for the steps, very handy.

A quick question if I may. My car body side of the loom for the motor connectors are badly corroded (previous owner removed the deployable steps and fitted fixed steps in there place) as they were left zip tied up under the car without anything over the ends causing them to fill with crap. Anyway this has corroded the pins meaning I have the replace that length of the loom or repair what I have.

I wonder, is it possible to source just the connectors on the body side for the motor connection? Either with the appropriate pins or prewired with a pigtail to solder into my current wiring? It would save me from disassembling the interior to reach the next connector back for the wiring down to the motors as I could leave it in place and repair what I have.

98_Martin personally I would buy some of these kind of waterproof auto connectors.

Chop and replace both ends. They are quite easy to use.

I'm really after a pic of the "wedge key" is possible
