Someone asked if this is an issue on late L405s. I found a picture of what seems to be a cracked knuckle on a my21 D350 Autobiography for sale in Italy. It looks similar to the crack on Christian and Veras car.

Duckworths replaced both sides, service manager great to deal with. |

Nice of JLR to spread these problems around the range!

Just out of interest, thought I would take a picture this morning at the revised design on my L460

The split has gone! Also all curves, so no sharp-edged stress-raisers, what an admission of guilt!? 🤔?

As, the post a couple up… my neighbors L494 knuckle split in 2022. It’s a 2015 model. He went through insurance to fix as it then wrecked loads of other bits underneath as he was driving it at the time.

I had very small hairline fractures in one of my front knuckles. My car is outside of the recall range but LR MD got both sides replaced under extended warranty without issue. |

In today for a set of front ARC pipes. Owner was unaware of any issues, or the outstanding recall. 15MY, so both sides to be replaced under warranty

Further to my earlier post today, it was Mike at MMP who managed to identify the cracks in my steering knuckles/ hub carrier. Only very careful inspection of the rear edge after a wire brush. Thanks MMP for potentially saving a catastrophic failure. |

Mikey, do JLR provide an improved replacement part or is it identical, and therefore going to break again?

A threaded suspension ball joint with a nut on the end to hold it in place. Forgive me for stating the obvious but does anyone know why the 405 designers decided to try something new?
