United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 V8 Santorini Black

I've been using it for a few weeks now and it's definitely a noticeable upgrade. Since the original head unit powers on as soon as you unlock the car, CarPlay starts pairing right away. By the time I've opened the boot or sat down, it's usually already connected.

The audio quality is solid and sounds better than the Android unit I had before. On hot days, the old head unit would often fail to power on and needed cooling down, but I haven't had any such issues with this one.

All of my original functions still work, like the 360 camera, rear entertainment, and TV. It's also a lot easier to access.

I'd definitely recommend it!

Thank you for that.
I’ve ordered one. I had to pay £200 which I think is very good for the original look.
Would it be ok to ask you for help if I have any wiring issues?
I’m ok with dismantling the dash. I’ve done that a few times now

Of course, happy to help however I can.

I followed Sam's video here:

He moves pretty fast once the head unit is open, but the ribbon cables only fit into their correct slots, so it's fairly straightforward.

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Sumatra Black

My unit arrived last Thursday. I fitted it yesterday, all working.
Stripping the dashboard down wasn't too bad, I added the daughter board which was fairly simple as it was just ribbon cables, temporarily fitted the head unit and had no picture on power up. I stripped it 4 times before I got a picture, one of the ribbon cables wasn't pushed in far enough.
Putting the dash back and glove box etc was a ball ache, but managed it, although some aching muscles from the contortion required.
I haven't had much time to play with it as i moved on to turbo oil feed o ring replacement and throttle body sealing improvement as recommended on Sams motor and machine

Many thanks for highlighting this unit exyjerome, I had been contemplating spending £600 on the uad unit. Saved a pretty penny. And I also was not charge import duty or vat.

I will comment on how it performs once I have used it properly.

Cheers.

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one who didn’t get the ribbon cables seated properly the first time — took me four goes as well!

Agree on the glove boxes, definitely the most frustrating part. Would have been much easier with an extra pair of hands.

Looking forward to hearing how you get on with it. I’ve done a fair few miles with mine over the weekend and it’s been behaving itself so far, fingers crossed it stays that way!
