How Seized Engine Out L322 2011 4.4 TDV8 ? | |
Hi Gentlemen,
I am writing from Munich - Driving Land Rovers since and now since some years into Full DIY. Just finished restoration of a Merc R129 including engine and now in front of this complicated beast of engine which is probably damaged. The crank/fly wheel is not not moving and the garage before did take injectors 5-8 out and also HPFP. I bought this beauty "damaged" for 4.000 EUR with high mileage/km 236.000km. And it was planned as a project car to up my skills in engine repair. (I am a full time consultant and IT guy from my prof )
I am so grateful for this amazing community here and learning everyday!
My Top 1 Question:
I have the car in my basement garage and dont own a lift - did all other repairs with jacks and ramps.
Q: How can I remove this engine ? I cannot access the torque converter bolts as the engine is not turning
Shall I remove the front bumper/all others and then pull it with torque converter still connected ? Shall I remove the heads and all other pieces to just have the small block in ?
Q: Shall I first remove the starter motor which could be as well the reason for blocked fly wheel ?
Please advise on how to get this out in my case.
Thanks
Cheers
RR
