United States

I contacted the dealer I have been in contact with since December of 2024 and they are still in the dark on parts to fix the steering knuckle. Called LRNA and told I would receive a letter when a remedy was available again. It’s been 9 months now and seems like they are in no hurry to fix this in the US.
I did file a complaint with NHTSA to see if anything comes of it or reimbursement will happen.

Losing faith in Land Rover, was thinking next vehicle was going to be a defender but might be a mini van now.

Ok maybe not a mini van but something not rover

Mine has just snapped 2017 AB have just filled out a DVSA form and also emailed JLR though I doubt JLR will do anything but hopefully DVSA can bring about a change from the 2014-2016 product recall as it is clearly happening to later vehicles.

My 65 plate is going in for a replacement next week. I take it they will be replacing both as just doing one only seems obtuse?

Knowing JLR I bet they try to replace only the one showing signs of the crack/defect, I got an email today from JLR sounds promising from the tone of the email hopefully they'll extend the vin numbers as its clearly happening yo later cars as well. Fingers crossed and good luck with yours

I really hope that JLR become overwhelmed with notifications from owners and MORE IMPORTANTLY, DVSA with incidents of this issue. Having read the US recall it seems clear than any ‘Government body’ has greater influence on any future recall.

Please continue to report cracked knuckles to DVSA as a serious safety defect (google it, it’s a very simple form).

This is Steve’s story of his front right giving up braking at around 50 miles an hour.

Hi woody, yes I did indeed fill in the form with DVSA and I’ve read the report from the US regarding this problem it’s quite shocking to be honest but hopefully they will extend the vin numbers as it’s clearly occurring in later cars.

@dolphinboy
Is your car within the current recall range? If not, have JLR agreed to pay?

it must be. I got an email saying my VIN was in the recall range for inspection but when I got to the dealer, they said that they were going to do an immediate swap without inspection.
