All fatties are very susceptible to low volts.

There is an explosive disconnect on the + side, there is a procedure for replacing the battery, you can find it in the workshop manual downloadable from the WIKI, link above right... Firstly change the battery, it's probably due a new one, type 019, go agm they last longer ime, you can squeeze a type 020 in but again imo better for an agm type 019.

If it was me I'd use the one recommended, which is the one you have IIRC... |

Recommended battery fitted and car definitely started a lot quicker and with more conviction!

You can tell fatty it has a new battery with a diagnostic tool but it will learn on it's own, just takes a bit longer for it to sort itself out.

Having had a Disco 3 for a few years, I can confirm a Gap IID tool was the first thing I bought as I was on the way home from picking up the car!

After a few days of leaving the car, tested voltage at well over 12V and unless anyone wants to tell me otherwise, I don’t think I have a parasitic drain issue, and I think that it was just an old battery not holding charge.

Now that's sorted get the plastic sill covers off and check for rust, at the very least cover everything with your favourite rust treatment, also inject every box section, then do the tailgate and rear arches.. |
