I was thinking of getting a cutoff switch put on mine. Just to be a deterrent should someone overcome the immobiliser.

The solid load cover takes a bit of getting used to but not found it a major inconvenience and well worth the trade off for the security. It is removable as are the seat locks from inside the boot should I need to use it for moving bulky items. I had considered a switch on the fuel lift pump on the tank but was worried of fuel starvation to the HP pump should someone try to start it so opted for the gear control module which was also easier to implement. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Maybe use the key rather than the fob in public areas like car parks

Not sure the alarm or superlock is enabled with the key? Plenty of reasons to steal an old 4x4 such as use in crime, just because they can and for the hell of it esp if it's now quick and easy to do. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Correct JayGee, neither of those are active when using the manual key, plus you have to lock all other doors manually with the button and the boot operation is also compromised 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Santorini Black with black interior and glass

I am not sure L322s are on the hot-to-steal list.

It’s the ease with which it can be done these days that’s the problem as I found out when mine was broken into. Previously a thief would have to smash glass which would be a kind of deterrent in itself unless there was something of value on obvious display worth the risk but now a silent entry is possible so it’s no risk to have a rummage about even for lowish value items. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |
