Hi Rob,

As soon as i got back from work, i went straight into the car, disconnected the battery and then disconnected the eas pump. i undone the 4 screws around it however i came across an issue. i managed to unlug the electrical wires however as per the picture how to i unplug this so i can take the unit inside my house so i can properly dry it out.

also the unit seems to be sealed with a padding inbettwen where it joins etc i would imagine this is possibly where the water has soaked up from and got inside, if i split this open i will i rejoin it, will it be a case of super glue etc.

any other info be gratefull recieved.

thanks

Where the plastic pipe meets the metal part you need to push the collet in towards the metal part and pull the plastic pipe out. Use a small open ended spanner on the collet to give you more leverage

I would do the same. Plenty of time to dry. You could put 12v across it to get it pumping to make sure it's clear. If not don't worry. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

You need to determine what is the positive and negative connections on the multi-plug connected to the compressor and then connect them to a battery

One thing keeps coming to mind, i have seen a few posts where people say there is sometimes a problem with the actual release value and i would imagine this is the brass cylinder that is in my pics at the end of the air pipe.

would it be a good idea to take this off ? and if so how would i do it, i have heard people say just use the T section to connect the two pipes. any idea how to do this, i would just go figure it out myself however the complexity of this beast makes me reluctant to "trial and error" with it.

thanks

Once you have the compressor refitted and working leave the rear tyre cover off and try lowering the suspension, you should hear the valve dumping the excess pressure if it is working properly

Just looking at the electrical workshop manual seems the

Red/Yellow wire (1) heads off to the Rear Fusebox - live feed (Fuse 18/88 )

Brown/Yellow (6) goes to the Header-Earth - earth

All the other wires talk to the Air Suspension ECU

Maybe someone can confirm, and please check this out and don't take my word for it before trying the compressor on a 12v supply Smile .

i really am at my wits end with this, i put the compressor back in, dried it all out, i even left the heater in the car for one hour, dried it all with a tissue, the connections too and i turned engine on, went for a drive and still nothing, the compressor doesnt even make a peep of noise.

is there anyway that the compressor is ok but something else is stopping it from working ? as in if the compressor makes no noise does that mean its 100% broken?

since i have been doing this the car has been idling rough to a point that the needle bobs up and down every 5 seconds or so and makes the lights go dim ever so slightly.

Sad Big Cry

any advise ?

Hi Joe,

yeah i had a look at the connections and there are two really thick wires and the rest are small hence i gathered they would be the electrical feeds etc

problem i have is that i dont have a 12v supply. i was actually thinking i would cut my car charger and run a 12v off my other car and try and touch the two wires on the compressor connection like that.....

hope that makes sense.

Guys, is the fuse in the back or the front of the car for the compressor ?

I assumed it was two 20amp fuses in the front ? i checked them and they are ok, is it in the back ?

apparently the black box on the far right is the eas compressor supply unit relay, could this be faulty, causing it not to work ?
