The hissing noise is normal. They breathe heavily from the PCV on the left bank to the throttle body. Coincidentally, also a common leakage point!

Try disconnecting the bonnet switch and bridging the terminals in the connector. I had this issue and got fed up with getting up in the night to sort it.

Have you boroscoped the cylinder to see what the piston crown etc look like?
Is the injector good on that cylinder?

I had the same on mine. The bumper had been off for paint when I bought it. The sensor loom dropped down and was melted by the exhaust...... on the test drive!

| Thanks. I had the same problem with the hose. Bought a new one (£120+ !!!!) and that was poor too. Ended up with a "temporary" piece of 22m id hose and a couple of jubilee clips. Not pretty ... |

I agree. I cant find anything other than high flow through the PCV valve back into the throttle body. If I block that flow, the fuel trims settle back to around zero.
