Seems when they changed the discs they simply didn't fit it. But I can't work out why it was removed in the first place.

| Strictly speaking, C* spec is largely irrelevant. You need an oil equivalent to STJLR.03.5005 to meet the required specs (2.7/3.0/3.6/4.4 with DPF) |

If JLR said 5w40 was suitable, they'd list it as a compatible oil
They don't, it needs 5w30 C1 spec |

Mahle are OE for the 2.7, Mann are OE for 3.0, and that's how we use them
Never had an issue with either. Don't use Crossland though, that's just asking for trouble  |
