England 2002 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Alveston Red

I will hopefully in the next couple of day find if there is more damage. I know the rack is damaged the rod is bent, on first look everything else seems okay. The garage it went to for assessment had a problem where the assessor was off sick and could not process the cars I left it for a week before I started complaining and this is what they came up with. Every component on this side is listed including electrical boxes etc, I can't find any electrical boxes damaged.

Type measurements above don't seem to correlate to anything on mine. Joe could you measure between the 2 rubber pips on the turrets please.

Mick

Thanks joe, looks like its moved 7mm the rest of the chassis etc is unmoved. Will hire Sheep some hydraulic gear to move it back.

On another note I can't see to find any body panels part from land rover anybody know anywhere else? Looking for the inner wing parts that are welded on.

Hi Mick
How are you getting on with this? Reason I ask, I just bought a Zambezi Silver Cat D 57 plate Vogue S/C with pretty much the same kind of damage but on both outer corners! No serious shell damage at all, but written off based on the cost of parts. I had been looking to update from my 53 plate 4.4 Vogue for a while, and got tempted by this while browsing on the Bay.
Did you change the rack? I think the one I have bought needs a rack also, but won't know till I strip it this weekend.
Long term, I am thinking that mine is an ideal candidate for a 2010 conversion. Craig, if you are reading this, I would appreciate a chat re all front end parts for both updating and the rest of the inner workings of a later front end please...
Mine is going to need a bonnet, both front wings, and a drivers door along with a full front end, some of what I have is saveable - it missed the N/S headlight completely!! The drivers door is saveable, but having looked at how cheap a mint Secondhand replacement door is on the bay, it's not worth messing about.

I am well pleased with my buy - the car was in top condition prior to the bump, had just been serviced, a few miles later stuffed into a hedge!

Hi Paneldamage

Yes I have just finished the Range rover I was lucky the chassis had not been touched, I hit a lorry so the damage was mainly high up. the suspension turret was pushed over but once I had the inner panels off it pushed over easily. The Rack was fine the tie rod had took the brunt so a new one sorted that. If you want to do it on a budget there's always people selling front ends on ebay after upgrading.

Nice work Mick, it's good to see what can be done if you don't mind getting stuck in.... How much for the inner wing if you don't mind me asking? I need the front 4 inches of the O/S wing for mine, I am hoping there will be a repair section for this bit to save doing the whole wing.
Also, i need to remind myself how to post pics....... Cheers

Hi Panel damage
The only panels I could get were genuine land rover panels I needed N05,10 and 11 N0s 5 and 11 were around £50 each which is quite reasonable No 10 was £250 so if you can save a panel that's the one to save. a good spot weld drill and it strips down easy. As far as I am aware these are the only panels they do there are no repair panels available.
