Still not sorted. There have been mornings this week and last week when the Mustang unit starts, runs for 5 then shuts down. If I turned off the engine, lock the car (say to pop into a shop) and then once back in the car the seat gets very warm.

Other mornings working fine first go.

So still an issue there. Maybe controller not completely happy with parameters of the Mustang unit.

. Cheers, Greg

Hi, I am also experiencing problems with my heating function on the driver's seat. Cooling works fine but when the fan kicks on to heat it does so for a few seconds then cuts off which sounds like the thermistor. I had noticed in your previous upload that you have brought a new seat cushion when you stripped the seat and want to do the same. I was wondering if you had the part number? Cheers and hope you get your Mustang unit to cooperate.

Hi Eac11, sadly I've not succeeded with my experimental fitting of the Ford Mustang unit.

Pls see https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/post501998.html#501998

Thanks for the speedy reply.... Really thought the Mustang unit was going to be a success. Do you have the part numbers for the main base seat cushion, foam ducting and the foam topper?

Cheers.

How do you get the back of the seat to come off? Are they attached by screws or clips?

I Have just fixed this on mine, mine was the fan assembly in the back of the seat, the part was around £125 and I got my local garage to change it for me.

I know it's late but thanks for your help gonna_go_double_r

Seats repaired with a genuine replacement rear fan unit as it seemed the thermistor had gone due to overheating and a new base cushion.

Had any luck with getting the Mustang unit to work, just out of curiosity?

What fan unit did you buy if you don't mind me asking for £ 125 as I recalled the genuine part being more like £250. Just for future reference. Thumbs Up

Some pointers please....seat base cooling works but not seat back...
Is it likely to be the split ducting issue?
Thanks in advance

Yes could be ducting. The units are more likely to fail in heat mode.
Problem is the broken ducting can screw the unit. I tried a duct repair but it was in vain and I had to just plump and replace the unit anyway. But that was a heat fail.

. Cheers, Greg

So, it heats both base and back but only cools base... Whistle

Could be duct, get the back off the seat (bit of a phaff) and inspect the unit to start Rob.

. Cheers, Greg

Will do. Looks like seat back can be removed by carefully following the instructions here. As ever, very helpful Thumbs Up 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
