Thanks again,

Just for my own sanity, I’ve just put it all back to factory again, that works ( phew ), introduced the new harness cable ( with no new modules plugged in ), and still works at the stage.

So it’s something to do with whatever I’m doing screen side, or some kind of setting - at least I know I’m not looking for a breakers with a spare screen at least 😂

I’ll wait to hear what Navi come back with - I’m being to smell something faulty with one of the new components

Oh that is excellent news. At least you can close it up and just fiddle below Mr. Green

Fingers crossed it is just a dip switch setting.

Now just to put it all together again! For now pub and pint !

Thanks Bl4ckD0g for input. I’ll right up a little “My Experience” just for reference for others.

With this unit, can you choose which side the app buttons are on? Usually they are on the drivers side ie right rand side in uk but the picture above shows them on the left?

I imagine it configurable - I’ll double check when I go out shortly.

The OCD in me prefers it on what would technically be the wrong side I guess

Thanks. This could well be the first mod I do once I’ve found a car!

I guess the logic is having the controls nearest to the driver.

I am sure I am missing something but how do I get the WiFi connection up and running.

Hopefully nothing to do with dip switches as the units are all deeply embedded in the dash and no way they are coming out again!

The other news from my install is the airbag light fixed itself when the end panel with the switch was refitted. Really recommend this system has made my commute much more agreeable.

I’ve read earlier in the thread that you just connect to it via Bluetooth and it then sorts the wireless connection on its own.

Hi Lance

How did you get on with the Naviplus, are you pleased with it? is it worth the money? I can pick one up as I`m in Australia and can claim the tax at the airport.

Cheers

I’ve not got one yet! I’m still looking for the car first Laughing

I’m sure others will be along soon with their opinions but everything I’ve read has been positive save for the naff instructions.

If you have the Wi-Fi unit fitted (it’s an extra ) you just sync your phone via Bluetooth and it does the rest. 2011 4.4 TDV8

Forgive the potentially inflammatory comment or is anyone else with me on this or am I missing something?

The Naviplus kit is nearly £1,000 last time I looked and it is a horrendous install, as exemplified by this thread (my worst install was the tow bar - 90 minutes the instructions say!!!!). The whole dash and front fascias need to come off to fit is.

As far as I can tell, what Naviplus gives you is Android Auto or Apple CarPlay on the existing screen in the car.

But what i cannot understand thus far is why you would want to spend £1,000 plus many hours installing something on a low resolution screen, when you can just run car mode on your phone in a good quality car mount. And many modern phones have screen sizes getting close to the size of the screen in the car, at MUCH higher quality. So, what is the benefit? What am I missing over spending £15 on a car mount? 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Not fitted mine yet? the cost was under £700 with the extras. I don't think you have to touch your phone after its Bluetooth paired and you can control other functions as before from the steering wheel controls.
Those that have fitted it say it's worth the money?
The instructions that come with it seem easy to understand, from what I can see it does not require any soldering just plug ends to connect?
I have fitted three cars with deployable steps and JLR instructions are a lot harder to follow on removing the trim?

although this naviplus system is integrated and mostly works ok, i've always thought it was way to expensive...

there are headunit replacements for £300'ish or you could get one of these,

this excellent thread started by baltic blue shows how easy it is to fit and to remove the unit,

these unit normally retail around the £200 mark but as it happens there is an ebay seller selling them at £133..
