They replaced the pan and not just the oil. The pan was leaking. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

You’re supposed to replace the pan and the oil as the pan houses the filter.

The service last year just drained and filled and kept the old pan. This service drained and filled and replaced the pan. I didn’t want a flush as it’s not recommend by ZF. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Oh I see. Yeah I’ve read that a flush can cause more problems than it’s worth.

Flush I mean change whole oli, not flush with some special washing liquid. Just get dirty oil off from the system compleatly and replace with new one.
They not recommend use some washing oils due these melt and wash dirt from the system, and bigger particales can stuck in some valves or small channels.
But full oil change they recommend for sure.

I'm happy with a standard drain and fill. It changes enough oil to prolong the life of the transmission which has a very good reliability record and will probably outlast every other component on these cars. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I don't have e-diff on MY11

All L322's have a low range box and a locking centre diff. BUT the Supercharged models have the rear e-diff (variable electronic locking) as standard and as an option on others. With e-diff the diffs lock automatically and this mode is always active and the electronics lock when it thinks it needs to, you can't override it !

Anyone know exactly with what conditions locks activating? How much wheel should spin before lock activate? Other conditions?
At the moment I know (just with test):
1) Normal driving mode - have no clue are they activating or not.
2) Snow. Seems in this mode the activation speed is fastest.
3) Mud and Sand...it let wheels spin littlebit more before activate locks.
4) Rocks. Diff already lock before car start moving. It release the lock when speed increase or steering wheel is turned out (dont know how many degrees, but not much needed).

You should see it activating in normal mode on the other dash screen, 4x4 info.

Sounds about right for the other modes. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

The only way to really know when it is being used is to graph live values for it as there is a threshold below which the indicator light stays green. My son graphed his D4's e-diff which showed that it had significant pre-loading for take-off in a straight line yet the indicator stayed green.

Changed the diffs and transfer case oil today.

Easy enough to do, everything came undone nicely and I replaced the drain plugs when I done them back up.

First up was the transfer case, coming out it looked pretty clean but in the jug it was black!

New oil for comparison.

Next was front diff. A little bit awkward to get the plug back in whilst on your back, not too bad though.

Lastly, rear diff. Nice and easy.

Thank you. How did you get the digital speed in the speedo please?

Move the terrain response to rock crawl, at least I think that was the one… display changes automatically.
