I don’t always monitor the same sensors, but I have been trying to compile a record of as many different live values as possible whilst my car is running well to use as a sort of reference to compare to when I do have a problem in the future.

Bank 2, Sensor 1 is just after the secondary turbo.
Floor it and that temp rises.
Under 2000rpm, it'll sit on 100 degrees all day.

Spitfire, I don't think you had a false, you said amber DPF and soon after the red
- this is true, it can go very quickly to red

If you do about a full tank of city driving only, under 40mph which I think is around 300 miles then in my experience that can take you form 3grams to 19-20 grams.

What can also happen is that your background Regen which would trigger automatically when you drive above 50mph may have been interrupted and instead of dropping down to 3-4g it could stop at 10-12 and then you may have driven 150 miles around the city and your DPF got up to above 23g.

(Hopefully that makes sense)

The DPF is actually really hard to manage unless you watch the grams number so without any OBD tool you can't see it - and it can take you by surprise.

That is strange DrRob. I will do a bit of research on it. You may want to email GAP because you need the grams figure as far as I can tell. Your value of 14.5 is not marked as grams and this may well be the grams number, but the 'soot in oil' reading does show a 'g' where the 14.5 doesn't.

I found this when searched one of your label titles "inferred using differential pressure"

In order to estimate the diesel particulate filter (DPF) soot load and improve the accuracy of regeneration timing, a novel method based on an equivalent circuit model is proposed based on the electric-fluid analogy. This proposed method can reduce the impact of the engine transient operation on the soot load, accurately calculate the flow resistance, and improve the estimation accuracy of the soot load. Firstly, the least square method is used to identify the flow resistance based on the World Harmonized Transient Cycle (WHTC) test data, and the relationship between flow resistance, exhaust temperature and soot load is established. Secondly, the online estimation of the soot load is achieved by using the dual extended Kalman filter (DEKF). The results show that this method has good convergence and robustness with the maximal absolute error of 0.2 g/L at regeneration timing, which can meet engineering requirements. Additionally, this method can estimate the soot load under engine transient operating conditions and avoids a large number of experimental tests, extensive calibration and the analysis of complex chemical reactions required in traditional methods. Cheers, Greg

Thanks Greg. Odd isn't it. I searched both tested and non-tested menus in Live Values.
When did you last update your IID software? I did mine a few months back shortly after purchase (late January). It could be a new parameter that has replaced Non Continuous Soot ??

The calculated soot in oil could be useful as a way of knowing when a change is due, but , I am happy to do 2 changes a year even though I only do 5-6 K miles a year.

What does the i symbol reveal ?

Rob,
Has your car just had an oil change ?, hence the 0 soot in oil reading ?

If so, it would be good to know the reading after every 1,000 miles.
You could then see what level reading corresponds to use.

Mine has a DPF remaining Volume reading measured in Litres, but it always seems to read Zero.
I have tried to find out why, but not got an answer.

Rob,
If you monitor the DPF soot concentration at the same time as the exhaust temperatures, you will soon see when an Active regen triggers.
If it rises from 14.5 to 17.5 in the next couple of weeks then you can expect to see it fall to around 2.3.
2 points to remember, (1 ) speed needs to be 50/60 mph.
(2) you need at least 1/4 full tank of diesel.

I might be wrong I’m Not technical!

I read somewhere that you need at least a third / qtr?? of a tank of diesel or the regen won’t start ....

Bill Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc
