It happened to me on 1 occasion on a motorway, maybe it was a F35 lighting me up  or just local plod with his death ray?

| If there are any other hoses on that system it would be worth replacing at the same time, as 13 years on a hose, is well past its useful life. |

Do you have a 2nd car and jump leads? connect with terminals under bonnet should easy be enough to open tailgate.
But I guess nothing will work if the earths are compromised under wheel arch! |

if you have a second you have to pull off the drivers side boot side panel..
JLR stopped them in 15/16my Peter... Moved to a condenser arrangement...
