Matt,
The latest TSB for the turbo drain mod is in the Wiki if you want to see the work involved.

The simple one liner on page 9- 10, “remove front subframe “ , makes me smile Rolling with laughter

Hi, BB,

7 days ago I cleaned my MAPT sensor, I am still getting the DPF full light up I went to a company near Folkstone They checked the sensor again and it was full again? I have been told that there is a build up of soot from the EGR that is blocking the inlet ports that need to be cleaned out before a DPF clean out can be done otherwise soot is going to dislodge and fill the DPF up again?
Price quoted for the work which includes a clean of the DPF is £628

First I've heard of the EGR actually contributing, although a bit of a suspect I'd be interested to know how it works out Tinman.
Sounds expensive, did you try the place I used?

Greg Cheers, Greg

Also i think it's not simply build up of soot, otherwise you could say that about your whole intake system. People do Terracleaning and the like but I'm not convinced.

A fault however is another thing. Your sensor is clogging and something's causing that. Any error codes?

Just be wary of DPF 'specialists' as there are many that have just jumped on the bandwagon. If they cut out and clean your DPF ina machine then that's a good sign. In-situ cleaning is not very effective.

. Cheers, Greg

If you are referring to the MAPT sensor ?.
Mine gets a covering of soot after 2-3 weeks of local stop/ start short journeys, but when I clean it I can’t notice any change in DPF soot level build up rate.

Hi, Greg, I did try your guy first his price has gone up by £100 = £350

I am not convinced about systems that do the job in the position maybe snake oil?

He did show me photos of his own L322 that he had decarbonized, But then you will get that with a diesel engine.

I really wanted to know if there was a sensor or something else playing up. When he put an Icarsoft on the ob2 port I got suspicious.

Unfortunately, despite the depth of this thread, the cause of a fast-filling DPF remains elusive.

Matt here is getting his turbo drain done but there are plenty that do not have this mod done.

Matt has also just proven Terraclean does nothing.

EGR sensor in the NS manifold - I can personally say does not improve things. It may behave differently for others.

EGR Valve - possible

Throttle body - possible
I don't have too much info other than a member got LR Assist out and the tech changed the throttle body.

I wish a LR Tech - a good one - could shed some light.

Tinman, maybe take it somewhere else for a look see then decide who to use.

. Cheers, Greg

Greg,
I am getting seriously close to believing that we don’t have a fault as such., more that we are just suffering from the effects of too many local stop- start type journeys and the only way to live with it is to regularly monitor the soot mass and then take an Active regen Motorway trip to bring it down to single figures.
We are both getting about a tank full between regens being required, so I have really just come to accept that as normal.

However Matt’s fill rate is not normal and needs sorting to at least bring it in line with ours.

Agreed Mike.
Yes I've come to acceptance too - pottering around at 20mph and lots of idling in traffic fills up the filter.
That's what it's supposed to do right - filter. Especially in cities and towns.

And when I said fast-filling ^^yes agree - I mean like Matt. Possibly Tinman too.
Have read a few cases like that here over last few years but can't pinpoint a common cause.

. Cheers, Greg

...and I've also come to realise 300hp / 700nm and the ability to reach 38mpg is in fact too good to be true.
There's no free lunch.

It's just that nobody told us. We were all lining up for lunch too!

Like most people hear I run a second car, VW Golf GTD I put that in for the emissions defeat change which completely messed up the car and had to take it to a company to get it changed back to working as it should?
I will not be taking my FF back to Folkstone I am going to leave as is and see if anything changes in the next few weeks If I am still getting the warning light up and I can clear it, It's working Right? I do like to do preventive work which I am about to do, I have just got my new silicone hose set to install.
Thanks for the comments guys Thumbs Up
