Can you tell if your getting a leak when the engine is running .When mine was leaking diesel it was only on start up on cold days and it was due to cabin preheater system not igniting and hence unburnt diesel was overflowing from burner unit. I had it blanked off and had no problems with spillage all over driveway since. |

So im looking at this now the dripping pump stopped dripping after 5-8 mins of engine running and the small pipe at the front of the pump is a little loose it goes to the filter but there is a T piece which goes to the fbh i think

I have the exact same problem I discovered yesterday but haven’t had chance to investigate further. The one I’m working on is a 2006 TD6 M57 and also has a limp mode at high revs up hill and P0046 code. Also interested to see where your leak is as mine looks the same.

Found a place in doncaster called maltings off road they can sell me a pump for £245 does this sound abit cheap the guy said they are refurbed by lucas but im still unsure as to why it only leaks on start up for 5 or so mins then stops leaking untill the next mornings start up |

It's quite a common fault, mines starting to go the same way.

Thats the way im thinking paul untill it starts spuing diesel out ill leave it be ive bought the tool to keep the chain and sprocket in place while i push the pump out i belive it to be a straight forward job and i also have read that the pump is NOT timed so it doesnt matter where the timing is when pump is swapped is that right |

Ive used Maltings a few times and they seem very reasonable, particularly for genuine parts. If you sign up on their website to their trade club, you get a certain percentage discount. I think I got about 12% last time, which on top of their competitive prices gives a good deal. Chris |

I think you will be ok, if they are replacing seals which I think are cheap and they are having them tested then they can probably still do a good job, pass on a good price and still make a reasonable profit
