We then drove down to my grandad and said hello its been 26 years since he passed 2 days ago we were a tad late

I fitted a full interior led kit pricey at 84 quid but they dont flicker and fade in and out PO fitted some cheops ones that just got hot and barely output any light as well as flickering alot.

Next to source quality number plate and reverse lights

That green plus is oem sub i need to source one not sure which variant or all hk subs are the same? Help

Front door speakers rattle will need to change those too

PO fit the craziest twin amp bs cock with standard speakers.

Also need to find wireless headphones for rear entertainment? Help and the smaller remote is missing

Tomorrow is just 1 shock absorber oil undertrays and deep wash

Peace all

Its finally done....for Now!

Car still needs good mop touch up and sealing some random rubbers and speakers to fix

But its running well air shock was a strange date

The shock had a build date of 2011 but the bag was 2022

It was leaking from under top cap it was a Censored remanufactured unit top bolt was missing the collar to lock the plug into place and maybe not torqued fully either as it was short 2 threads compared to new one either way it was shot and because of top bolt unlikely suitable for repair

I will change the other side to a matching dunlop unit in due course

Changed the oil and fitted the under trays Did another 20 mile road test car is sweet thank god

After 2 hours of observation no more sagging shock

Off to france tomorrow!

Thank you all for your support

Ps iso fix points on this car suck azzz

I have now completed around 1k miles mostly in France.

Car has averaged 19mpg mostly due a heavy playful right foot, best i managed whilst on my best behavior with a family of 5 a loaded boot was 24mpg for a 80mile stretch at mostly 70mph

So in reality after the honeymoon period i should average around 15 mpg i can live with this as the x5 gets 12 😄 🤣

I should have got one sooner! I drove my m3 today after 7 days and 1k miles on the RR and my god the m3 felt a dog to drive!

Likes

The ride its absolutely buttery

This engine really is the standout headline on this car

The torque all 700nm considering a remap...

The size and presence and timeless looks, makes x5s look small even the new ones.

Vdc makes the car very predictable despite being super soft on the initial turn in it stiffens up in the most buttery manner, i cannot imagine how much worse the early gen cars would be in comparison

Unfair Dislikes

1 more gremlin

Interior map lights both front and rear have the same fault.

Right hand side individual light will not turn on im guessing its a ground issue but where!

slight steering wobble around 75 will need to back to the tyre shop and that should be that hopefully

Audio needs to be fixed just a working stock set up will do

Rear entertainment unsure weather to buy the LR headphone and remote the cost seemz silly around 500 or just buy a android screen and forget the rear stuff as kids have tablets switches etc

Car needs a tad more exhaust note to drown out the direct injection motor as it almost sounds like a fancy diesel under 1500 rpm. Unless thats due to the 0w20 oil which seems crazy low weight

In todays shenanigans

Puddle lights, reverse lights and number plate lights all changed to match interior all seems to be high quality flicker free and consistant lighting.

This car is fairly big ill have to split this correction up

Next washes will be one side each incorporating the boot

Keep it simple and easily reversible with a fluffy pink steering wheel cover
