Air suspension inactive

So iv had my 2003 hse for a few months and never had a problem with the operation of the air suspension but it was sitting a little low at the rear so I had it re calibrated at my Indy last week, everything has been fine and iv used the suspension up and down a couple of times in which it rises and drops quickly, anyway wife got in it this morning and 'air suspension inactive', it's still doing it now when I had just checked, the light is in in the middle of the dial and the light next to the standard road height setting is illuminated but nothing is working? Any ideas? Iv phoned my Indy and its going back on Thursday afternoon for a check over buy anybody had the same problem?

Try the search facility on here with, "air suspension inactive" and you will be reading about it and how to sort it for days to come.

It could be one of a number of problems, split airbags, iffy height sensors or dicky compressor to name just three.

Most are relatively easy to get sorted.

Here is a link to a recent air susp thread.

I tried searching but just found posts with people having all the lights out on the dash (for the air suspension) or car dropping on one of the corners but my symptoms are slightly different, I will try having another look, cheers

Bit of a long shot here.. Have you tried turning the steering wheel all the way to the left, hold it for a second or 2, then turn it all the way to the right? When I recently had a flat battery the suspension would not work until I had done this to reset the steering sensor, it then fired up the comp. as well. Just thought your battery might have let go a bit.. Thumbs Up Previously..

Check your battery and all connections at the terminals, cold weather can kill a bat at the drop of a hat, you can prob reset the lights by dissconecting both bat terminals and touching them together to erase the memory from the ecu. One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

Cheers for the reply, iv tried that to no avail, to b fair the battery could be on its way out as iv occasionally had 'hdc inactive' on start up since I got it, is it possible the voltage has finally dropped to low and locked me out? I'm hoping its a height sensor as it was fine till I got it re calibrated although that could just be a coincidence, I soppose I won't know until I get the fault codes read on Thursday, I did do a little light off roading the other day so maybe a height sensor as got covered in crud? Clutching at straws I think lol

I will try disconnecting the battery tomorrow, so I need to touch the connectors together to reset?

Yes disconnect both and touch them together, it will clear the codes, if it immediately says the same fault, do the same but put a charge in the Bat, if the lights stay off the problem is low voltage. One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

I've got the same. I got this error and found a broken height sensor, had to replace the rear right height sensor and since then I've still got this error message. The Indy cleared it and it disappeared for 3 trips now back again. Heading to Indy tomorrow to see what he says. 2002 Vogue Epsom Green with Ivory Leather.
